Morning Session: Field Dressing
Learn the proper techniques for field dressing a deer to maximize meat quality and minimize waste. Topics include:
Anatomy and shot placement considerations
Safe and efficient field dressing
Hygiene and meat care
Tips for transporting your harvest
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Afternoon Session: Breaking Down the Deer
Step into the butcher shop and learn how to transform a deer into quality cuts for your freezer. You'll learn:
How to break a deer into primal cuts
Identification of major muscle groups
Proper knife techniques
Deboning and trimming
Which cuts are best for steaks, roasts, grinding, and specialty products
Packaging and freezer storage tips
